Although I can offer my experience, opinion and source from my own training, if expert advice is required, the appropriate professional should be sought. Reiki and other energy work can be a great compliment alongside more orthodox therapies and treatments, and if you are under the doctor or other health professional or have any concerns, you should seek further advice. Reiki has very few contra-indications as it is seen as non-invasive, however there are still considerations, such as pregnancy, pacemaker and recently broken bones. Regarding shamanic work, again there are no hard and fast contra-indications, but again considerations will be taken and any medical history should be disclosed.
